GL Posting Rules

Navigate to GL Posting Rules#

• Step 1: Access the Ledger sub-module of the Finance module from the left sidemenu as shown in the fig1 below.
• Click on GL Posting Rules as shown in the fig1 below.

Create a GL Posting Rule#

• To create a GL posting rule, hit the New button in the toolbar area and populate the form fields.

Filtering a GL posting rule#

• Use the Filter button, when clicked, gives you a dropdown where you can specify various parameters for filtering the records:
  • Search string: for filtering records
  • Company: A dropdown list of companies
  • Status

View a Posting Rule#

• From the List view, click the Id of the posting rule to view it

Edit a Posting Rule#

• From the list view, select the posting rule you want to edit by clicking on a checkbox
• Click the edit button to edit the posting rule you just selected

Delete a Posting Rule#

• From the list view, select the posting rule you want to delete using the radio button
• Click on the Delete button to delete the posting rule

Activate a Posting Rule#

• When you create a posting rule, its status will be pending
• To activate the newly created posting rule, search for it using the search filter
• Then click the Activate button to activate the posting rule (it status will change to Active)

Deactivate a Posting Rule#

Only an active posting rules can be deactivated:

• To deactivate a posting rule, search for the posting rule using the search filter
• Then click the Deactivate button to deactivate it

Merging Posting Rules#

Two posting rules can be merge together

• To merge 2 posting rules into a single rule, select the first rule by clicking on the checkbox
• Click the Merge button in the tool bar area
